Our Background
Mach 1 founder Stephen Hill began his aviation career in 1975 as an apprentice aircraft engineer gaining UK CAA EASA B1, B2, C, and FAA A&P licences. With 30 years in roles as Senior Engineer, Stephen's technical experience extends to all aspects of line maintenance and major heavy maintenance environments, both in the UK and overseas.

Our Background
For the last 21 years Stephen was employed as Executive Director and Senior Surveyor with a large aviation loss adjusting firm, operating on behalf of global Underwriters. Stephen has significant experience in aviation based loss assignments, including technical through to settlement, as well as assignments from law firms for liability claims assistance, and expert witness.

Stephen has undertaken and completed the renowned IATA aircraft recovery training course. Since 2006 he has provided technical consultancy support and liaison on a number of passenger jet aircraft recoveries. Owing to his demonstrated expertise, Stephen has also provided aircraft recovery awareness training for delegates from the Insurance market.
